~Supporting your wellbeing and growth with a safe space to process life’s challenges and transitions.~
Mental health challenges impact everyone. Whether you are experiencing depression, anxiety or trauma related to experiences in your life such as work, caregiving, addiction or you love someone who is experiencing these things, processing these challenges with a therapist will help improve your quality of life.
The benefits of therapy can impact many areas of your life. Working with a therapist can help reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar and many other mental health disorders. Engaging in therapy creates space to explore moods and behaviors and develop fresh perspective. Therapy helps people develop a better understanding of their own emotions. As a client you can learn effective coping skills to manage difficult situations, better understand patterns of communication and establish healthy behaviors and habits with boundaries, self care and acceptance.
Therapy can also help you overcome pain from your past and develop coping strategies for the future. Defining your goals, clarifying who you are and what you want out of life are benefits of the therapeutic process.
Additionally, ongoing anger and stress are major contributors to a number of related health issues. Therapy can reduce the negative physical impacts of these emotions and improve overall wellness. This can lead to more satisfying relationships at home, school or work, allowing you to be more mindful, less stressed and more fully enjoy your life.
The person centered, trauma informed, strength-based approach to therapy that I use allows you to work with your therapist as an engaged member of your therapy process. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and provide wholistic, integrated, culturally sensitive therapy to support your overall wellbeing. See the "About" tab for additional information on types of therapy offered and my approach to therapy.
